Lawrence Mayor’s Scholarship Fund
The Lawrence Mayor’s Scholarship Fund, was supported by Mayor Brian DePena and the City of Lawrence, and helped Lawrence families access quality licensed child care. It bridged the gap for those ineligible for state vouchers or facing long wait times.
- Families could choose from a variety of licensed child care facilities in the city of Lawrence
- A family co-pay was required
Children benefited from:
- Child Care licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care
- Qualified staff who provide a nurturing environment
- Developmentally appropriate activities
- Low parent co-pays
To qualify families had to meet the following criteria:
- Parents/guardians had to be working or training in an educational program
- Child must be a Lawrence resident
- Family does not currently have child care subsidy from the Department of Early Education and Care
- Must meet income requirements
