Community Kids Place works with partners and expert teaching artists from throughout the community to provide students with enrichment and hands-on learning opportunities. Students at CKP have participated in yoga classes, bucket drumming lessons, art classes, cooking classes, recreational sports, and more. In partnership with local nonprofit Groundwork Lawrence, students learned about sustainability and environmental awareness by participating in hands-on science activities, and even grew produce in a hydroponic garden!
Through project-based learning, CKP students have designed business models, led literature initiatives, and even created a YouTube read-aloud channel for peers. Project-based learning encourages students to think critically, be creative, and solve real-world problems.
