The Community Group Early Head Start (EHS) offers early, continuous, and comprehensive child development and family support services for eligible families. The program serves children from birth to age three in child care centers and up to age four in Family Child Care Homes.

EHS provides tailored educational, health, nutritional, and behavioral resources to meet the unique needs of each child and family. It fosters strong parent-child relationships while building on family strengths. Parents are encouraged to participate in the Parent Policy Council, where they can help shape program policies, develop leadership skills, and contribute to their community.

The program emphasizes parent engagement in their child’s learning journey and provides practical support, including diapers and formula during child care hours for qualifying families. EHS also offers referrals for health care, social services, job training, housing, and food assistance. Home visits are conducted to provide holistic family support, along with education on child development and resources for children with disabilities.

Families can choose between two full-day care options:

  • Family Child Care setting
  • Center-based setting
