TCG operates multiple early learning centers along with a network of over 80 home-based child care educators. Find the option best suited for your child based on their age.
Care for infants and toddlers is available at the Infant/Toddler Program at Lawrence High School and through our network of Family Child Care (FCC) Educators.
Lawrence High School Infant/Toddler Program
This program provides nurturing care for children of teen parents attending school or working. It offers early education in center-based and family child care settings, with support for young parents.
- Infant Care: Personalized care including feeding, naps, cuddling, and activities tailored to individual needs.
- Toddler Care: Focus on language, socialization, and independence through small group activities.
- Creative Curriculum® guides learning, promoting development and supporting children’s interests.
Daily Routines:
Meals, play, circle time, art, stories, and outdoor play.
Additional Services:
- Transportation available
- Weekly parent support groups on parenting, career, and balancing responsibilities
- Teen parent advocate provides home visits for additional support
Caregiver Details:
- Infant classrooms: Certified teachers with low child-to-caregiver ratios
- Family child care homes offer personalized care with certified providers and assistants
Infants and Toddlers may also be eligible for our Early Head Start program.
Preschool Programs at TCG
Preschool programming is offered at the Early Learning Center (11 & 20 Ballard Way), LEAP, and through a network of Family Child Care Educators. All programs are guided by a developmentally appropriate approach that supports active learning and growth in all developmental areas.
A Typical Day Includes:
- Healthy meals: breakfast, lunch, and snacks
- Weekly curriculum exploration through a daily hands on approach
- Literacy Activities
- Math Activities
- Music, Movement
- Learning Centers: art, blocks, dramatic play, library, sand/water, science, writing
- Small and large group activities
- Gross Motor Play (outdoors if possible)
- Reflection on the day’s learning
Classroom Details:
- We meet and or exceed the qualifications for the Department of Early Education and Care for teacher ratios.
Family Child Care Settings:
- Standard homes: 1 provider with up to 6 children (2 under 15 months, 1 between 15-24 months, and 3 others)
- Large Family Child Care homes: 1 provider and 1 full-time assistant with up to 10 children (including children under 15 months and between 15-24 months)
Our Kindergarten curriculum includes Journeys (Literacy), Fundations (Phonemic Awareness), Lucy Calkins’ Writing Workshop (Writing), and enVision (Math). Learning is enriched through field trips and a summer camp experience.
A Typical Day Includes:

- Morning Meeting (to build community)
- Whole-group and small group literacy lesson
- Exploration at Learning Labs (including Guided Reading)
- Read-aloud and independent reading
- Science, art, and social studies activities and explorations
- Gross motor play (outdoors if possible)
- Home Link activity to connect learning to home

We provide out-of-school-time care through our Community Kids Place enrichment program, offering services after school, during breaks, and throughout the summer.
